Versoo Content Ops supports eight content types. Each produces a different structure and writing approach. Pick the type before you write your intent — it tells the AI how to open, organize, and close the piece.
Tutorial / How-To
Opens with the end result the reader will achieve. Steps run in order, one heading per phase or action. Closes with what the reader can do now they’ve finished. Use this when you’re walking someone through a process from start to end.
Explainer
Opens by naming the concept and why it matters. Explains how it works. Addresses common misconceptions or follow-up questions. Closes with a clear summary. Use this for foundational topics where the reader needs to understand something before they can do anything.
Listicle
Opens with a brief setup paragraph. Each heading is one item — all items are parallel in depth and format. Closes with a synthesis or the single most important takeaway. Use this when you have a discrete set of points that work better enumerated than as flowing prose.
Opinion
Opens with the claim or thesis. Builds the case with evidence and reasoning. Acknowledges the strongest counterargument. Closes with a clear, unambiguous position. Use this when you have a take worth defending — not just a topic to survey.
Case Study
Opens with the problem or situation. Walks through the approach and key decisions. Shows the result or outcome with specifics. Closes with what generalizes to other situations. Use this when you have a real example with before, during, and after.
FAQ
Each heading is a question written in plain language, as a real reader would ask it. Each answer is 1–3 paragraphs. Questions run from most basic to most specific. Use this for reference content where readers scan for a specific answer rather than read top to bottom.
Comparison
Opens by establishing what is being compared and which criteria matter. Evaluates each option against those criteria. Closes with a clear recommendation and who each option suits. Use this when the reader’s question is “which one should I pick.”
Announcement
Leads with the most important information first. Provides context and supporting detail second. Closes with next steps or a call to action. The title names what is being announced — no how-to formulas or listicle framing. Use this for releases, launches, and updates.
Length options
All eight types support three length targets, selected from the Length dropdown when you generate a draft:
- Short — 300–500 words. Works for announcements, tight opinion pieces, and short FAQs.
- Medium — 700–1,000 words. Default. Right for most tutorials, explainers, and listicles.
- Long — 1,500–2,000 words. Use for in-depth case studies and comprehensive comparisons.
